Coming off podium appearances at the first two ASA Pro-Am events, Paige Pearce did it once again, taking 3rd at the Camp Minden event. This podium also marked eight appearances on the podium in 2022 for Paige across multiple organizations. A true ambassador of the sport, when not on the course, Paige also spent all of her time working with countless archers answering questions, and shooting in the Pro-Am team event, which her team also won.

Gold Tip, an industry leader in carbon arrows and bolts, along with Bee Stinger, maker of the most advanced line of stabilizers and side bars for bowhunting and target archery, congratulates team archers for their top performances at the 2022 ASA Easton/Hoyt Camp Minden Pro/Am. Members of the archery team secured top three finishes in two divisions, with Kyle Douglass winning the Known Pro Division.

ORGANIZATIONS
 
The National Deer Association (NDA) applauds Thursday’s introduction of the Chronic Wasting Disease Research and Management Act in the United States Senate. The bill’s introduction serves as a companion to the House of Representatives version, which passed the House in December. The Act will support management efforts and research to combat chronic wasting disease (CWD), which is a contagious, neurological disease affecting deer, elk and moose that is always fatal.

The National Deer Association is calling for full authority over Pennsylvania’s captive deer shooting facilities to be transferred from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA) to the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC).

The National Deer Association (NDA) recently completed Phase 1 of the Southeast Deer Partnership (SDP). The SDP was formed to highlight the benefits of hunting and the importance of deer hunters to wildlife management programs. The SDP is comprised of state and federal government agencies, non-government organizations (NGO) and private sector entities that have vested interest in the future of deer hunting, wildlife management and conservation.

The Boone and Crockett Club thanks Senators Martin Heinrich and John Hoeven for introducing legislation to authorize federal funding to address chronic wasting disease (CWD) more holistically. The CWD Research and Management Act introduced today is a companion bill to H.R. 5608 that passed the U.S. House of Representatives with an overwhelming vote of 393-33 in early December last year.

Knowing the critical need for professionals in the wildlife management and conservation leadership roles, the Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation (QUWF) began the Endowment Fund with the College of the Ozarks (C of O) to assist students in the wildlife management and conservation curriculums obtain their college educations. C of O is one of the very few Christian Colleges where-in the students work all four years of their education and graduate debt free.

I had a cool write-up all ready to go this week with Eric Griggs of GAS Bowstrings, but he’s getting pushed to next week in light of it being Mother’s Day this weekend. (Apologies, Eric). Doing that allowed me to ask a few of my friends what they are doing this weekend. I only gave them a few hour notice, because that’s how nice I am, and here’s what they sent back:

“My husband, 2-year-old daughter and I will be on a turkey-hunting trip in Michigan’s Northwoods on Mother’s Day. We’ll be visiting my parents at their house and plan to hunt all day and then make a homemade dinner that evening.” – Britney Booth. Britney is a lifelong outdoorswoman and shooting enthusiast with a passion for upland bird hunting, over-and-under shotguns and German shorthaired pointers (GSP). And for me? I’m heading back to Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri. Hubby and I were here this exact weekend last year, and decided we had too much fun and needed to return.
