New Haven, Mo. - ALPS Mountaineering, manufacturer of performance-driven technical support gear for wilderness exploration, trekking, and family camping, announces a new tent model developed for backpackers who demand a low-weight, low-bulk shelter with two-person capacity and full weather protection.
The Hex 2 is a two-piece tent system that utilizes two trekking poles (not included) and guy lines for support, greatly reducing overall carry weight compared to freestanding tents. The nylon ripstop, 3000mm silicone/pu-coated tub floor is sized to comfortably fit two sleepers. A full-mesh inner tent provides maximum air flow for temperature regulation on warm nights and helps minimize moisture buildup.
For inclement weather or to keep gear dry, the full-coverage rainfly can be deployed. Made of 20D 380T nylon ripstop with 2000mm silicone/pu coating, the fly is designed to resist UV damage and remain taught when in use. Dual vestibules adjacent to both tent doors provide ample room for gear storage and easy ingress/egress. Pop-out vents are built into the fly to assist air flow and extra guy-outs are included for added stabilization in rough weather conditions.
Additional features include two mesh storage pockets, 7075 aluminum stakes, and guy ropes.
