Zebra Publishing Inc. Announces Sale of Inside Archery and Bowhunt America

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO —Zebra Publishing Inc. is pleased to announce that Apollo Creative Inc. of Georgia has acquired the assets of Inside Archery and Bowhunt America. Zebra Publishing owner Sherry Krenz, now in her 42nd year in the archery industry, said she is excited the new owners will continue the legacy that she and her late husband, Bill Krenz, created in 1998. Bill Krenz passed in 2010.

About Zebra Publishing Inc.:

Bill and Sherry Krenz founded Zebra Publishing Inc. and Inside Archery magazine in 1998, and it soon became a dominating force in the archery-trade arena. Bill Krenz’s extensive marketing background, gained through long, high-level stints at archery powerhouses like Hoyt and Bear Archery; and Sherry Krenz’s decades-long experience as a superlative account executive for major magazines like Petersen’s Bowhunting, Bowhunting World and Archery Business, helped them create a trade magazine that quickly became the archery industry’s No. 1 source of industry-related news. Inside Archery has long staked its reputation on insights into new products, buying trends and business-related advice.

Bill and Sherry launched Bowhunt America, a consumer title, in 2003. Bill was a highly successful bowhunter and an expert on archery equipment, and Bowhunt America highlighted his expertise. After Bill passed in 2010, Sherry forged ahead with the daily demands of publishing Inside Archery and Bowhunt America. She eventually discontinued the print version of Bowhunt America but continued with both brands on digital platforms. While contemplating retirement, Sherry struck a deal with key team members Eduardo (Ed) Rother, Stephen Mack and Patrick Meitin to buy Inside Archery and Bowhunt America’s assets.

About Apollo Creative Inc.:

The new owners have over 65 years of combined publishing experience. Ed Rother has been with Inside Archery since its fifth issue as art director and key designer for Zebra Publishing. Ed also owns ER Graphics, a Georgia design firm. Stephen Mack has been with Inside Archery since 2013, starting as a graphic designer, and then managing editor, and then an account executive. Stephen has served as associate publisher the past three years, and remains involved in all aspects of the print title, Inside Archery, and the digital properties of Inside Archery and Bowhunt America. Patrick Meitin has been an outdoor writer 33 years, and served as editor of Bowhunt America three years, and senior/equipment editor of Inside Archery for five years. Patrick has written over 2,700 magazine articles, five books, and countless blogs and columns. The new owners bring valuable skills to the endeavor that will ensure a smooth transition. They’ll also continue the “above-and-beyond” customer service that Inside Archery advertisers and readers have long depended on.

In addition to the expertise of the new owners, Apollo Creative will retain the same excellent team you’re accustomed to working with on Inside Archery and Bowhunt America: Daniel Allred in editorial (Daniel@insidearchery.com),

Tara Bondar in design (Tara@insidearchery.com), Pam Ludlam in accounting (Pam@insidearchery.com), and many of the same contributors.  (Please note the new Inside Archery email addresses.)

Inside Archery is published 10 times annually and will continue as scheduled. Apollo Creative will mark its publishing debut with the July 2020 issue of Inside Archery.
