Scheduled for Jan. 23-26, 2025, at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex in Manheim, Pa., the Classic is the East Coast’s largest indoor archery tournament, while the Youth & Collegiate Tournament is a sort of mini-Classic within the Classic that allows young archers the chance to compete in the Classic venue for a fraction of the cost and time commitment.
The 2025 Classic is shaping up to the be the biggest yet, with 21 total divisions, separating archers by equipment, age and gender. The division lineup features four new divisions for 2025, which are: Longbow, which is a mixed gender class for archers shooting longbows and wooden arrows; Masters Recurve, which is a mixed gender class for archers 50 and older shooting Olympic Recurve equipment; Women’s Bowhunter, which is a female class for archers shooting Bowhunting equipment as defined by NFAA; and Youth Bowhunter, which is a mixed gender class for archers age 11-17, shooting Bowhunting equipment.
These four classes will be medal divisions only, meaning winners will be determined by scores produced from the 60-arrow rounds. There will be no elimination matches and no money payouts.
Over $300,000 in prizes and awards will be given out at this year’s Classic, which includes a return of the special payout for one archer who shoots a perfect 660 qualification score. Any archer in any division who shoots a perfect 660 is eligible for this prize. If only one archer shoots a 660, then that archer wins the prize. If two or more archers shoot 660s, then there will be a shootoff to determine one winner, who will take home the full $20,000.
The Classic is widely regarded for its unique, exciting competition format, which requires every archer to shoot 60 arrows for score at 18 meters. Archers in each division are ranked based on those scores and elimination brackets are set up for head-to-head matches involving the top 16, 32 or 64 archers – depending on the division. Those matches whittle down the fields to the top four or eight finalists – depending on division – who then advance to compete in the Classic’s thrilling finals venue.
The Classic finals are held in a separate hall that puts to the two competing archers in the spotlight in front of a live audience, and are broadcast live on Lancaster Archery’s YouTube channel. The finals feature a shoot-up style format, where anyone in the final group has the chance to win their respective division. For each division, the two lowest-ranked archers compete first, with the winner advancing to compete against the next highest ranked archer and so on, until one archer wins the right to take on the top seeded archer for the top cash prize in that division.
The Easton Youth & Collegiate Trophy Tournament is a competition within the Classic, that is set for Jan. 25-26, 2025. It’s open to archers age 12 and under, up through students attending college. Archers in this competition also are segregated by age, gender and equipment. They will shoot 60 arrows for score on the same field as the Classic archers, with awards being given out based solely on those scores. Archers can choose to shoot either Jan. 25 or 26, but trophy awards will be given out after the rounds are finished Jan. 26.
