A $13,000 grant on behalf of the Clinton Iowa & Maquoketa Iowa Whitetails Unlimited Chapters was issued for the purchase of 30 acres of land that will be converted to public hunting land. The 30 acres borders the existing 201 acre Eden Valley Refuge in Baldwin, IA. This project was a joint effort with the Twin River Pheasants Forever and Clinton County Conservation Board.
The Eden Valley Refuge offers multiple outdoor activities such as hiking, cross country skiing, and camping. It is also home to the Eden Valley Nature Center that is open to the public on Saturdays, May through October. The nature center includes a wildlife diorama, live snakes, and several taxidermy displays.
