Scholastic 3-D Archery Names Jason Burley as Minnesota State Coordinator

Williamsburg, KY – Scholastic 3-D Archery has named Jason Burley as the Minnesota State Coordinator. Jason is anxious to start growing the Minnesota S3DA program as he wants to build a solid foundation like other established states. Jason will oversee all aspects of the S3DA program as the Minnesota State Coordinator, including but not limited to, providing archery training courses to adults to become certified S3DA instructors, providing local archery shops, businesses, schools, etc., information on the program, building relationships and partnerships to create and develop S3DA teams, and dividing the state into regions to allow S3DA youth members multiple competition venues as close as possible to their home location. Jason will recruit and hire Regional Coordinators to oversee and manage these individual regions.

Jason was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota, and raised in Thompson, North Dakota. Jason and his wife, Aimee, have been married for twenty-seven years and have four daughters, Alyssa, Abbie, Isabelle, and LeeAna. Jason and his family moved around Minnesota for about fifteen years, residing in Anoka, Isanti, Brainerd, and Cloquet, and then settled in Carlton, Minnesota. Jason is a USA Archery Level III Instructor, 4-H Coach, and S3DA Coach. He currently is the 4-H Carlton County Shooting Sports Coordinator and a coach for 4-H Carlton County and Archery Performance Academy. Jason had the privilege to coach the U18 mixed compound team to a gold medal over Mexico in the Pan-Am Junior/Senior games in Halifax.

Archery started for Jason and his family when their daughter, Alyssa, (at the age of 12) began shooting for the local 4-H program. All four girls became interested and started shooting, so this grew the family’s involvement in the 4-H program. Over time, the girls were more and more involved with archery which led the family to branch out and get involved with USA Archery. Archery has given the Burley family the pleasure of traveling the country together and building memories as a family.

Jason said, “I have been involved in many different roles in the archery world. It has helped me to become a better father, coach, employee, and employer. I decided to find an organization that would help give more kids the opportunity to enjoy experiences similar to ours. Archery has been an important part of our family and we have met some great people over the years. Helping others to get the opportunities my family has experienced is my goal.”

The Minnesota Archers Alliance (MAA) (www.themnaa.org) is a statewide organization providing archery education and competitions to archers of all ages and they recently announced a partnership with the S3DA program. Jason will work with MAA, 4-H, USA Archery, NFAA, and various other organizations to promote the S3DA program in Minnesota. Jason has already begun working on getting Minnesota S3DA publicity as he plans to attend and present materials at an upcoming indoor shoot. He is looking to add at minimum ten adults as S3DA Instructors and two S3DA teams by the end of the year. If you are interested in archery, we encourage you to check out the Minnesota S3DA Facebook page and contact Jason Burley for more information.
