QUWF Elects First Emeritus Board Member, Marshall Teague

Buffalo, MO: By a unanimous vote of the Board of Directors, the Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation (QUWF) has elected its first ever Emeritus Member. “Marshall, besides still being an active Hollywood actor, has been and is a solid piece of the frame work of QUWF and conservation from the beginning” states Craig Alderman of QUWF. “My personal best picture selection is his co-starring roll with Patrick Swayze in the iconic cult classic picture “Roadhouse” as Jimmy Reno” Craig reflects. “Marshall is a truthful voice of on the ground, grass roots, wildlife conservation and clean streams emphasis across the U.S. He provides a strong Christian and moral compass to all his actions and decisions supporting our direction. He is both a brother in arms and in Christian faith. This is a true personal honor to announce his selection as our first ever Emeritus Board Member” Alderman says.

Marshall is a retired military naval veteran, a law enforcement veteran as well as a well-known actor with over 130 films, a motivational speaker with ongoing TV appearances. His acting and personal career blended portions of his military and law enforcement background into his characters. Currently he is working on the film Reagan, with Dennis Quaid. His love of hunting early on, growing up in TN, generated his love and interest in preserving the habitat, wildlife and clean streams. He is one of the Founding National Board Members of QUWF and a long-time friend and mentor to its founder. Marshall and his wife Lindy are outstanding sporting clays participants, they bust targets with consistency. Marshall is particularly good at competitive pistol, shooting in the Bianchi Cup for many years. He loves quail and pheasant hunting but most of all understands God’s gift to us and the stewardship we must employ to keep it for generations.

“I am so honored to be elected to this position within QUWF. We have had our obstacles, and battles, being the only veteran founded conservation organization in the U.S. and one set up that broke the mold, letting the true stewards, private landowners and local chapters truly retain the majority of the revenue raised for work in their areas, managed by them. We look at the landowners and listen, then turn-the dirt with them for years as we find solutions together. There is no magic bullet, it takes a wholistic approach at the local, grass roots level to get things done. That is what QUWF does and I’m proud to remain part of that” Teague emphasizes.
