Registration for the 18th Annual Lancaster Archery Classic Now Open

The largest indoor archery tournament on the East Coast, the Classic is scheduled for Jan. 21-24, 2021, at Spooky Nook Sports complex in Manheim, Pa.

Space is limited, due to social-distancing requirements, so archers are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

Lancaster Archery Supply is offering over $300,000 in cash and prizes to archers competing in 16 divisions featuring open compound, Olympic recurve, barebow recurve and bowhunter equipment.

The Classic has a unique and challenging format that archers love because it offers the greatest chance to the greatest number of competitors to win their divisions.

Each archer shoots a 60-arrow qualification round, which scores the inner X ring as 11 points. That means 660 is a perfect score – which has only ever been done twice in Classic history.

Top qualifiers then are set into an NCAA basketball-style bracket for head-to-head matches. The winners of those matches advance until there are four or eight finalists, depending on the division.

Held on a separate, two-lane field with dramatic lighting and television cameras, the finals are completed in a “shoot-up” format. The two lowest-ranked archers compete first, with the winner advancing to shoot against the next-highest ranked archer.

That format continues until someone shoots against the highest-ranked archer for the division title.

All finals matches are broadcast live on the Lancaster Archery Supply Facebook page and YouTube channel.

A number of social distancing rules and safety measures will be implemented for the 2021 Classic.
