DENVER – Louie, T-Bone, Pops and the crew at The Custom Shop return to television as The Gunfather sets to air on Outdoor Channel in July 2019. The Gunfather is presented by Colt Manufacturing.
Originally debuted in 2014, The Gunfather followed Louie and his family as they moved from Long Island, N.Y. to the small mountain town of Hamilton, MT in the pursuit of turning his passion into a business. Louie and his family opened up The Custom Shop, a gun shop specializing in firearm sales and restoration. Now that the business has hit full stride, Louie has turned his perfectionist eye to the art of firearm restorations and custom-builds for the new season of The Gunfather.
Produced by Big Gun Productions, The Gunfather is a submission-based reality show. Viewers from across the country submit their requests to have their restoration or custom-build projects considered for the show. Follow along as Louie consults with potential clients about restoring their prized family heirlooms back to original condition or creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Learn about the history of each gun, and how that ensures the restoration is authentic and period correct. Dive into the nitty gritty, as the restoration team battles the effects of time and elements to turn back the pages of history. Watch how the once damaged and neglected treasure transforms to its original form or a brand-new creation. View the joy and excitement in the client’s eyes as their associated memories of loved ones and moments past or future come rushing in with the reveal of the finished project. All this is set along the majestic backdrop of Western Montana’s Bitterroot Mountains.
Each episode will present new challenges for the crew, pitfalls and triumphs, dead-ends and eureka moments. Different techniques will be tested, as well as Louie’s perfectionist ways. And a classic firearm will return from history – bringing back fond memories to its owners.
“We’re excited to welcome back Louie and the team to Outdoor Channel,” Outdoor Channel Vice President of Programming, Mitch Petrie said. “The Gunfather has a strong viewer base and the new focus on firearms restoration and custom projects will appeal to a broader audience of collectors and enthusiasts.”
