Clay City, Ky- This past weekend kicked off with the USA Indoor Nationals finals! Nine GAS Bowstrings shooters made it into the finals and several with incredible scores! These shooters included Braden Gellenthien, Carson Sapp, Isaac Sullivan, Madison Cox, Paige Pearce, Toja Ellison, Brady Ellison, Jack Williams, and Robby Weissinger.
In the compound men’s division, Braden Gellenthien qualified in third with an incredible score of 1192! Isaac Sullivan qualified in sixth with an 1189 and Carson Sapp qualified in seventh with 1188! In the quarterfinals, Isaac and Braden went head-to-head and Isaac was able to come ahead by just one point. Then he went up against Carson Sapp in the semifinals where Isaac shot a perfect 150 against Carson’s 147. Isaac then went to the gold medal match where he took the gold by one point, 149 to his competitor’s 148!
Paige Pearce had an incredible performance in the women’s compound division where she qualified in first with an incredible 1190! She qualified almost ten points away from the archer in second! Toja Ellison qualified in third with an 1177 and Madison Cox qualified in fifth with an 1173! In the quarterfinals, Madison and her opponent shot one arrow closest to the center to determine the winner. Both shot 10s, but her competitor’s arrow was just slightly closer. Toja and Paige battled it out and both met head-to-head in the gold medal match! Paige was able to take the win and Toja placed second, 146-144.
In men’s recurve, Brady Ellison shot an impressive 1195 to qualify in the first place, 18 points away from Jack Williams’s second-place qualifying score of 1177. Jack and Brady worked their way to the gold medal match where Jack took the win, two set points ahead of Brady.
Last, but certainly not least, Robby Weissinger qualified in first in the barebow division with a 1089! He held his position in first place all the way through to the gold medal matches. He won gold by one set point!
