QUWF Adds New Regional and State Biologist in MO

BUFFALO, MO – Quail & Upland Wildlife Federation (QUWF), in partnership with the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), is proud to announce the addition of Bob Peterson as their newest regional and state biologist. “There is no doubt COVID19 has negatively impacted our landowners, members, and sponsors, and there is no better way to attack a situation than to select professional and well-trained people to join the fight,” declares Craig Alderman, QUWF Founder and Executive Director. “Bob has exceptional experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and landowners. He was a Farm Bill Intern and Resource Aide with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service while completing his bachelor of science degree in biology at Missouri Southern State University. Bob received his masters degree in biology from Missouri State University, where his research focused on northern bobwhite,” added Alderman.

Peterson will provide technical assistance through on-site visits to Missouri private landowners. He will also deliver guidance to QUWF co-ops implementing wildlife habitat management practices and conducting stream assessments. He will be working with all aspects of QUWF, including social media.

“I’m very excited for this opportunity to work as an integral part of QUWF, providing assistance to landowners, members, chapters, and partners and meeting MDC goals as an NGO biologist. I am totally supportive of the conservation mission of QUWF which incorporates all wildlife species, clean streams, and youth activities. QUWF thinks outside the box and actually develops the tools, techniques, and equipment necessary to achieve its goals. I look forward to adding to the wildlife conservation passion which the organization exudes. Under the mentorship of QUWF’s Chief Wildlife Biologist Nick Prough and Founder and Executive Director Craig Alderman, whose experience and drive are noteworthy in this industry; the future is exciting.”

“I have known Bob for years and worked with him on many projects. His ethics, integrity, and honesty are the personal traits we must have at QUWF. His strong moral compass and absolute passion for wildlife habitat combine into a powerful ally for QUWF. The hardest job we have is finding the right people at the right time that fit with our team; Bob hits all the points. We welcome him, knowing all he will add to our organization, our landowners, members, and partners,” states Prough.

Peterson resides in Joplin, MO, where his QUWF office is presently located. In his free time, Bob enjoys playing the guitar, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
