Scholastic 3-D Archery Names Marcy Harris Arizona State Coordinator

Williamsburg, KY – Scholastic 3-D Archery is pleased to announce Marcy Harris as the NEW Arizona State Coordinator. Marcy will oversee all aspects of the S3DA program in Arizona. Marcy will recruit and hire Regional Coordinators to assist her with the development of S3DA within assigned regions of Arizona. Marcy’s goals as the State Coordinator include splitting the state into 4-6 regions, adding approximately 10 or more S3DA clubs and teams per year, and educating people across the state of Arizona about the S3DA program.

Marcy Harris was born in Willcox, Arizona, but raised in California. She later returned to Willcox, Arizona to attend High School and graduated from there. She moved to Duncan, Arizona in 1996 and currently resides there on a small farm with her family. Marcy’s husband got her into archery when they began dating. Marcy said that he proposed to her while they were practicing one night.

Marcy Harris found out about S3DA while at an archery competition. Marcy had a youth archery team when they had previously owned an archery shop and she absolutely loved it. When she sold the shop, she started a 4-H archery team. She said that she wanted to make an even bigger impact and that’s why she chose S3DA. Marcy stated, “When I started my youth archery team, it was amazing to see kids from all types of different backgrounds participate. I think S3DA is the next-step archery program for kids that would like to transition from NASP, and as an after-school program, it provides kids a reason to go to school and to keep their grades up. Sometimes it is harder for rural kids to value education. The opportunities for scholarships for our kids is amazing too!”

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3-D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA students participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Students can participate at local, regional, state, and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
