West Henrietta, NY – Winner's Choice pro shooter, Mike Scholesser, bested the reigning World Archery champion, Stephan Hansen, on Sunday in Salt Lake to secure a first-place finish in Stage Three of the Hyundai Archery World Cup.

The pair competed neck and neck through the nail-biting shoot-off, which was made even more challenging by the windy conditions on the course. In the tiebreaking round, the 23-year-old's quick pace and impeccable "Mister Perfect" accuracy resulted in a win over Hansen.

"Stephan is a great archer and we've faced off a few times this year, so it feels incredible to come away with a win," said Schloesser. "I'm thankful to my sponsors for providing me with equipment that helps me gain a competitive edge and remain solid throughout these tournaments."

In addition to securing this title, Schloesser also shortens the world ranking gap between himself (211.500) and Hansen (302.500).
