Longtime archery dealer Erv Wagner died February 16th at the age of 63. For more than 30 years Erv and his family operated Archery Field and Sports in Des Moines, Iowa, supplying archery equipment and expert advice to generations of archers and bowhunters.
Wagner had been shooting archery since 1956 and learned from the legends of Fred Bear and Frank Scott. Erv was inducted into the Iowa State Archery Hall of Fame, was a National Champion and has been a member of the NFAA Pro division for more than 35 years.
Erv belonged to the ARRO buying group since its beginning in 1981 and served on its board of directors for ARRO from 1993-2014. Erv's dedication and archery business knowledge helped developed the ARRO buying group to be the most respected and profitable buying group in the U.S .
Erv's humor and friendship for everyone who knew him will be sincerely missed.
He is survived by his wife Pam, his daughters Kristie( Bryan Corley) and Cindy Wagner, and his son Mark (Jill) Wagner; his grand children Taylor, Austin and Lily; his aunt, Freda Loftus; and many other extended family & friends. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Ervin Arleigh Wagner, age 63, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015.
Visitation will be held 4-7pm on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home in Des Moines. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Oakwood United Methodist Church in Pleasant Hill. Burial will follow at the Norwalk Cemetery. Immediately following burial, friends and family are invited back to Archery Field & Sports for a celebration lunch.
Erv was born March 18, 1951 in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Tech High School in 1969. On May 23, 1970, he married his 7th grade sweetheart, Pam (Simpson) Wagner at Indianola Heights Christian Church in Des Moines, IA. Married to the love of his life for 44 years, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
Owner of Archery Field & Sports in Des Moines, IA for over 35 years, Erv touched countless lives with his generosity, quick wit and legendary skills. He always loved to share his passion for archery and his countless stories of hunting in the great outdoors.
Erv is survived by his wife, Pam; his daughters Kristie (Bryan Corley) and Cindy Wagner, and his son Mark (Jill) Wagner; his grandchildren Taylor, Austin and Lily; his aunt, Freda Loftus; and many other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his sister, Linda Neitzel.
