Camp Woodie Kicks Off 2022 Season

Pinewood, SC – The South Carolina Waterfowl Association’s summer camp program Camp Woodie for ages 7-16 located at 8444 Old River Road Pinewood, SC will kick-off its 2022 summer camp season with a two week staff training May 22-June 3, 2022. Our summer camp staff will be trained in safety procedures in accordance with the American Camp Association’s (ACA) standards, youth development and activity skill development by experts in the youth development, shooting sports, and camp activity fields. The American Camp Association is the only nationwide accrediting organization for all types and designs of organized camps. ACA standards focus on health, safety, and risk management practices. Camp Woodie is accredited through the American Camp Association. Safety is our number one priority.

Camp Woodie was established by the South Carolina Waterfowl Association in 1995. Camp Woodie is achieving its mission with the help of expert staff and instructors who deliver hands-on, fun-filled education to the next generation of outdoorsmen and women.The Camp Woodie program is hosted at the Nation’s largest Wildlife Education Center operated by the South Carolina Waterfowl Association and our Education programs serve over 15,000 campers, families and students annually. Campers will take part in activities like shotgun sports, riflery, archery, fishing, canoeing, swimming, and so much more! Camp Woodie hosts week-long sessions for junior campers, ages 7-11, and senior campers, ages 12-16. Campers age 10 and older have the opportunity to obtain their SCDNR Hunter’s Safety Certification while at camp at no extra charge.

Camp Woodie will operate 10 overnight sessions this summer (Sunday-Friday) with our first week of summer camp beginning Sunday June 5 through Friday June 10th. Last summer, we served 1237 campers and this summer we have 1544 campers registered which will be the largest number of overnight summer campers we have ever served. Sessions 1-9 are full.
