Whitetails Unlimited Supports National 4-H Tournament

Whitetails Unlimited recently provided a $1,000 grant to the National 4-H Shooting Sports Program in support of their Championship Tournament. Since the beginning of this partnership WTU has granted more than $750,000 to 4-H. The program held their tournament June 20-25 in Grand Island, Nebraska. WTU has supported the 4-H Shooting Sports Program nationwide for nearly three decades. In addition to the national championships, WTU also contributes to the 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor’s Workshops. These workshops educate instructors on how to certify 4-H coaches in their state.

The 4-H Shooting Sports Program offers a wide variety of disciplines including rifle, shotgun, pistol, muzzleloader, and archery. It is estimated that the program has reached more than 475,000 youth in 47 states. Over 3 million individuals have been introduced to hunting and shooting sports through the National 4-H Shooting Sports Program. The championships were attended by close to 900 youth and instructors in Nebraska..

“4-H has done a tremendous job introducing youth to the shooting sports,” says Whitetails Unlimited Program Services Director Russ Austad. “The skills learned by the great instructors at 4-H make for an easy transition into hunting activities.”
