Williamsburg, KY – The Shawano Hawks Archery Club along with Inside Out S3DA Archery worked together to host an indoor target holiday shoot for Wisconsin S3DA at Butch’s Archery in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Butch’s Archery is a local sporting goods store that offers a fishing and firearms department, lounge, and indoor archery range. Butch’s Archery continues to be a family business that serves the local community and invites everyone to visit their facility.
Archers and their families arrived at the shop to compete in the second Indoor Regional for Wisconsin S3DA. Every single line was full or nearly full as roughly 68 archers from 14 teams competed in the event. All throughout the day there was standing room only and spectators visited the archery shop to allow for more space while the archers were competing.
“The Wisconsin S3DA season is really ramping up, and Shawano Hawks & Inside Out did a great job working with Butch’s Archery to host a quality event. I especially like the initiative shown by using experienced Young Adult archers to assist the Jr. Eagle and Eagle archers with scoring instead of the parents and coaches. A simple thing which builds camaraderie between archers of different ages and clubs,” stated Wisconsin S3DA State Coordinator, Scott Fuchs.
Parent, Brenda Potts stated, “Having the older archers assist the younger archers worked out well. The young adults really enjoyed working with the younger kids and it allowed them to focus on the target and not stress about scoring. It was nice to see how willing the archers were to help each other and all the smiling faces.”
“I am looking forward to this new season with S3DA. Butch’s Archery was a great venue for the event and the staff did a great job of accommodating all requests. We are already looking forward to the next shoot,” stated Parent, Cyndi Frohmader.

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic 3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA youth participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Youth members can participate at regional, state and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting.
