For 2013 Darton Archery has added two potential award-winning crossbows with the Viper Series. The Viper Series uses some of the same engineering as the award-winning Serpent, but your first shot will prove the Viper Series is definitely an upgrade.

The Viper Series boast Darton's New "Trackless Barrel Design" for increased accuracy and a Soft Touch coating on the stock for a comfortable warm feeling. The trigger box has a smoother trigger pull and new safety mechanism. It is equipped with an integrated riser / string suppression system and barrel dampener. The result are an easy shooting, accurate, quiet crossbow.

The Viper Series has two models. Both the Viper SS and Viper SS Xtreme have a compact build with a 13.5" power stroke and a 17" axle to axle making it an ideal choice for a ground blind or tree stand. The Viper SS draw weight is 170 pounds which spits it venom at 340 fps. The Viper SS Xtreme has a 180 pound draw weight and shoots a blurring 360 fps. The Viper series is all you need in a crossbow: compact, quiet and fast.
