2022 ATA Trade Show to Feature First Archery Tournament in Show History

NEW ULM, Minnesota – For the first time in ATA Trade Show history, USA Archery will host an archery tournament at the 2022 ATA Trade Show.

The 2022 USA Archery 25 Meter Shootout tournament will be held on Friday, Jan. 7, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 8, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in South Wing C. The space can accommodate 70 targets and 300 shooters. The event will feature a unique 25-meter shooting distance and will be World Archery certified so participants have a chance to break world records.

The ATA Trade Show exclusive event was added to the Show schedule thanks to a longstanding 12-year partnership with USA Archery. Jennifer Mazur, ATA’s senior director of outreach and education, said the partnership is always evolving and expanding to provide better archery opportunities.

“The work ATA does with USA Archery has produced Archery Academies to infuse the sport into local communities, Explore Archery and now this opportunity for our members to have a novel experience at our annual Trade Show. We’re grateful for their dedication to growing archery and their willingness to work together on new projects.”

USA Archery CEO Rod Menzer agreed.

“The ATA has long been a supporter of USA Archery and makes such incredible efforts to grow the archery community,” he said. “We’re proud and excited to build upon our partnership with the ATA to put together this new event.”

Maria Lewis, ATA’s senior director of Trade Show and membership, hopes ATA members attend and enjoy the Shootout.

“We’re thrilled to announce the addition of the 25 Meter Shootout to our 2022 schedule of events. Not only will this be an excellent competition, but the Shootout provides another opportunity for our members to interact, learn, and simply celebrate being back together as an industry."

Archers will compete on Friday and Saturday and have the option to walk the Show floor on Sunday as part of their tournament fee. They can pay extra for additional passes.

Archers interested in competing can register beginning August 16 through USA Archery by clicking here. The registration fees to compete in the 2022 USA Archery 25 Meter Shootout tournament which include access to the ATA Trade Show Floor are as follows:

  • Compound $500
  • Recurve $250
  • Barebow $180

After registration, participants will be sent a code that allows them to book their hotel room in the official ATA hotel block.

USA Archery will payout nearly $85,000, with the potential for more, to the winners. The top ten finishers in each division (compound, recurve and barebow) will receive a check. Men and women will compete separately in the compound and recurve categories. Compound archers placing first will win $10,000, second is $4,000 and third is $2,500. Recurve men and women archers will win $7,000 for first, $3,000 for second, and $1,750 for third. All barebow archers, men and women alike, will compete to win $6,000 for first, $3,500 for second, and $1,000 for third.

The ATA and USA Archery look forward to offering this unique event at #ATA2022.

“This shoot is going to be fun,” Menzer said. “It’s a completely different round than what most people are used to shooting at USA Archery events and it will be a blast. We look forward to bringing together ATA members, top athletes, and industry leaders for a spectacular shoot.”
