Elite Youth and Collegiate Competitors Shine in Lancaster

West Henrietta, NY – The 2020 Lancaster Archery Classic wrapped up Sunday afternoon, after four full days of intense competition across archery disciplines. More than 2,000 competitors took to the line vying for the Classic title in their respective classes, and a host of Elite youth and collegiate archers impressed with podium finishes.

“The Lancaster Classic is one of my favorite tournaments as a professional archer and as pro staff manager, because I have the opportunity to see so many of our athletes shine and have great success,” said Darrin Christenberry, pro staff manager for Elite Archery. “This year was no different and I couldn’t be more proud of our pro staff and everyone flying the Elite flag and shooting such a wide range of Elite bows – a true testament to the versatility of our line of target bows.”

First, in the Collegiate Men’s Open was a first place podium finish for Jacob Houseknecht, shooting a Ritual 35, competing for Alfred State. Competing in the Collegiate division for women, Alexis Ruiz of Grand Canyon University, shooting the new REZULT, took second, while Lexie Martin of Emmanuel College took third, shooting the Independence Echelon 37.

Kicking off her 2020 season on a high note, frequent podium finisher Olivia Hay and her short-draw Ritual 35 shot through the competition to a first place finish in the Easton Youth Female Open. Bethany Lunger, shooting a Victory 37, secured a first place finish in the Youth Female Open.

Shooting down in the coveted finals auditorium were several Elite shooters, first in the Women’s Open, where Haley Golden, shooting a Ritual took third, while Gracie Detamore, shooting a Victory 39 took second. Later, Chance Beaubouef, shooting the new REZULT, lost on a closest-to-center tie breaking arrow to finish the weekend in seventh in the Men’s Open Pro.
