S3DA Names Shane Mowery as Idaho State Coordinator

Williamsburg, KY – Scholastic 3-D Archery announces Shane Mowery as the new Idaho S3DA State Coordinator. Shane will oversee all aspects of the S3DA program in Idaho including tournaments, training, and the division of the state into regions. Shane has tremendous reach in the outdoor industry and plans to use the resources he’s gleaned within his career to influence participation in the program. He is the owner of Bone Maniacs TV LLC, professional big game guide, host of the popular Carbon TV show Bone Maniacs, and co-owner of Afterlife Taxidermy and Archery Pro-Shop.

Shane was born in Virginia but has traveled extensively across the country. He has lived in Alberta, Canada, Utah, and Montana. He met his wife, Jena Mowery, and settled in Kamiah, Idaho to raise a family. Together, they have four children, Odhan, Toryn, Ragnorok, and Malin.

Shane was introduced to archery through his dad and his late friend. They both shot for Tom Jennings and had an archery shop that they spent countless hours in. Shane got his first bow at the age of five, which laid the foundation for his passion in archery today. In regard to S3DA, Shane said, “I owe two of my friends and my children the credit for the introduction to S3DA. Jon Lene and Derrick Fong brought the program to my attention a couple years ago and once my children were old enough to be involved, we hit the ground running.”

Shane went on to say that kids need outdoor mentors, especially these days. He is happy to share his knowledge not only with his children but to any that want to learn about archery and conservation. Idaho is a beautiful state with ample opportunity to hunt and get active in the great outdoors. Shane believes that educating youth on how to give back is essential for the future of archery and conservation.

His short-term goals include dividing the state into regions and putting a regional coordinator in place in each of those regions. Shane along with these regional coordinators will promote the S3DA program across the state of Idaho and recruit members to participate. His long-term goal is to make Idaho S3DA a premiere youth archery program that everyone wants to be a part of.
