Archery Wire Photo of the Week

Bowhunter magazine columnist C.J. Winand took his 14-year-old daughter Jesse on an alligator bowhunt at Lake Seminole, Fla. in August, where she bested her dad by arrowing this 8-foot, 8-inch gator, compared to C.J.'s 6-foot, 4-inch specimen. Aside from her larger trophy, we would have used this photo of Jesse with guide Tate Morrell of Backwater Bowfishin www.BackwaterBowfishing.com over the submitted photo of C.J anyway, just because she's a lot cuter than her old man. Jesse shot a Hoyt ProHawk set a 45 pounds, while C.J. shot a 70-pound Hoyt Spyder. Both used a Muzzy Fish Hook Bowfishing Rest and Muzzy's Gator-Getter Kit, which includes a Gator Reel, 500-pound line, three gator arrows, two buoy floats with adaptor and an extra spool of gator cord. Each arrow weighed 1,850 grains. Both Winand gators were taken with 10-foot shots.
