SUPERIOR, WI – The 23rd Muzzy Classic Bowfishing Tournament presented in cooperation with Muddy Water Outdoors has concluded, and it was a blast! Even in the wake of historically high gas prices, slightly lower registration and typical uncertain summer weather, this year’s participants made the absolute most of their time on the water, and the payoff was huge!
Team NGA Bowfishing took top honors boating 429.45 pounds of fish to earn them $20,000 at the June 12 weight in. In a close second, team Heart of Dixie Bowfishing landed 408.10 pounds to secure $5,000, while team Out of Practice took home $2,500 and third place with a 387.80-pound haul. Rounding out the top 10 were the following teams:
The 2022 Numbers Pot went to team Bad Company who earned $5,800 with a staggering 1,097 fish! Yes, you read that right! Team Heart of Dixie had their hands full with big checks from their 44-pound Grass Carp that secured them the win for both Biggest Grassy and Biggest Fish at this year’s event.
Even with lower registration numbers the teams maintained a strong spirit of competition, and worked the water hard after leaving the launch in Vicksburg, MS. Consistent excitement threaded through the entire weekend capturing the annual spirit of the nation’s premier bowfising event. Rest assured, work has already started on the 24th Muzzy Classic where participants can once again look forward to great fishing, big money and Muzzy-style good time!
