Rising Phoenix Archery Hosts First Indoor Regional for Michigan S3DA

Williamsburg, KY – Rising Phoenix Archery in Troy, Michigan held the first Indoor regional of the competition season for Michigan S3DA. On the morning of the archery shoot, the fierce Michigan winter weather reared its head as the area received snow and chilly conditions. Still, archers from five different teams across the state braved the weather and made it to the indoor range to compete.

Michigan S3DA State Coordinator, Cara Waite stated, “It was exciting to get the Michigan S3DA season started again. We were able to reconnect with friends and family from across the state. We had many new archers participate in this tournament. It was great to watch the older archer’s mentor the younger archers. I think everyone had a very enjoyable tournament. For this to be our very first Indoor tournament this early in the year, it was a great success.”

“S3DA offers classes that provide progression for children to grow from the time they start shooting a bow all the way to high school. This program provides archers the opportunity to earn archery scholarships from colleges and universities and continue shooting at the collegiate level. Our club strives to provide a family-friendly environment and that is a great way to describe the S3DA program. Rising Phoenix Archery is proud to be a part of S3DA and we look forward to hosting more regional shoots in the future,” stated Brandon Wright, Rising Phoenix Archery Head Coach.

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA youth participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Youth members can participate at regional, state and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of youth archers.
