TN S3DA Hosts Indoor Regional Tournament in West Tennessee

Huntingdon, Tennessee – Bradford Archery along with the Carroll County Civic Center hosted an S3DA Indoor Regional in West Tennessee. As participants and families arrived for the event, temperature checks were issued at the door and masks were required. Each archer was only allowed one spectator to comply with the CDC COVID guidelines. Social distancing was in full effect as the tournament host provided three different line times starting at 8AM and concluding with the last group of archers shooting at 4PM. Throughout the day archers arrived and shot their respective line with a total of sixty-six archers from five different teams competing for regional awards as well as TN S3DA Indoor State Shooter of the Year. There was nothing but positive comments about the location of the shoot and the overall event.

Coach for Mack’s Camo Connection, Casey Moore stated, “This event was incredible, we were fortunate to do a sport we love in an uncertain time, in a back-up venue that was a true God send. At the end of the day, it was all about the kids and making sure they were happy.”

South Ridge Archery student archer, Emma May said, “The facility was very nice, and I am so glad I was able to shoot with my friends, even with the social distancing being in place.”

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3-D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA students participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Students can participate at local, regional, state, and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
