Louisville, KY - The Louisiana S3DA State Championship was held at North Caddo Shooting Club in North Shreveport, Louisiana on May 20, 2017. Young archers competed in Traditional, Olympic Recurve, Fixed Pins and Open Classes. Over $200,000 in scholarships were awarded in all classes of High School divisions as specified by each College/University in amounts ranging from $3,000 to $11,500.
Scholarships were provided by Union College of Kentucky, University of the Cumberlands of Kentucky, Emmanuel College of Georgia and Bethel University of Tennessee.

Started in December 2012 by the Scholastic Archery Association, S3DA has grown exponentially as a next step program to follow introductory programs offered as part of 4-H or the National Archery in Schools Program. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
