Whitetails Unlimited Awards $15,000 to Ohio Bowhunters Club

Whitetails Unlimited awarded a grant totaling $15,000 to the Jackson Bowhunters located in Jackson, Ohio. The group hosts annual free Kids Camps where members instruct area youth on archery marksmanship on an outdoor range. The indoor range is also open for area shooting sports organizations such as 4-H and NASP. An annual two-day hunter education class is also offered by the club and is free to all area youth.

The club was formed in 1969 by a group of friends who all had an interest in finding a place where they could meet and practice their bow shooting skills. A range was established in the early 70’s, but the group was forced to move several times due to economic development. The club’s current building was constructed in 1990 and houses a 25 yard range complete with a small kitchen and restrooms. Future plans include expanding the building to be able to facilitate a 50 yard range.
