VANCOUVER ISLAND, B.C. + DENVER, CO |– Outdoor industry legend Jim Shockey has teamed up with Freedom Hunters, a Colorado-based non-profit group dedicated to reuniting veterans and military families with the great outdoors, to host their annual “The Jim Shockey Classic Military Tribute.”
The two-day gathering honors those who protect our freedoms, and aids in providing U.S. and Canadian military personnel with once in a lifetime hunts and fishing adventures. More than just a round of golf, the schedule of events – taking place in Isle of Palms, South Carolina at the Wild Dunes Resort on March 22-23, 2020 – includes a Jim Shockey meet-and-greet charity auction, a military tribute golf tournament on a picturesque 18-hole course, and a post-golf awards BBQ dinner.
“In collaboration with Freedom Hunters, I’m honored to host our annual Jim Shockey Classic Military Tribute to show our collective appreciation for the remarkable contributions of our active-duty service members, veterans and their families. Time spent outdoors has a wide range of mental and physical health benefits. As such, we seek to empower these heroes to get outside and experience unique adventures on the land they worked so hard to protect,” said Jim Shockey.
Among the special guests expected to attend the event are disabled Navy veteran and star of Discovery Channel’s Monster Garage Eric Scarlett, famed outdoor lifestyle influencer Eva Shockey and former NHL hockey player Tim Brent, among others. Flexible tickets range in price from $35 per person for a post-golf Awards BBQ dinner to a $300 all-access event package. Tickets are on sale now through February 22, 2020. Visit to www.freedomhunters.org/jimshockeyclassic for more details on the ticket package options and schedule of events.
“Freedom Hunters partnered with Jim Shockey to drive towards a single goal – raise money in support of presenting U.S. and Canadian military servicemen and servicewomen with world-class outdoor adventures. Oftentimes, Jim Shockey Tribute Hunts come into our warrior's lives at the perfect time, just when they need a bright spot in an otherwise difficult period,” said Anthony Pace, Freedom Hunters CEO & Founder.
“The Jim Shockey Classic is a two-day event centered on honoring our two nations’ military heroes while enjoying the comradery of others who love all things outdoors. This year, we are extremely grateful to our long list of benefactors and the beautiful Wild Dunes Resort, situated on sunny and scenic Isle of Palms, South Carolina. Our hope is that we can create a strong foundation in Charleston where this tradition can build and carry on for years to come,” Jerry Guanciale, The Jim Shockey Classic Military Tribute Tournament Director.
The Jim Shockey Classic’s 2020 sponsors include: Weatherby Foundation, SCI Charlotte, SCI - SCIF Education Department, Yeti, Leupold, Eden Ridge Outfitters, Safari Trails International, SiteLite and more.
