Concerns like durability, stretch, fit, feel, weight, locomotion, and so on are mulled over, put to prototypes, tested to the nth-degree, and then compiled into a finished product. And such was the case when TUO aimed to design a better technical lightweight field pant.

"Our Aptitude, Ballistic Storm, Velocity and Clime pants are popular and proven, but we recognized a need for a lighter weight, but still durable pant, and that thinking evolved into the new Vista Pant," said TUO Marketing Director, Steve Allie.
Shedding burrs and stickers, the Vista Pant's 85% nylon/15% polyester composition boasts a productive two-way mechanical stretch. "The high percentage of nylon is what provides the toughness and durability, while the polyester comes back around and yields just the right amount of stretch and softness," said Allie.
The new Vista Pant also delivers the one-two punch of Polygiene StayFresh™ and OdorCrunch™.
Polygiene StayFresh™ is a permanent, silver chloride based odor-control finish built into the fabric during manufacturing to keep the gear feeling fresh longer. It works by stopping bacteria from developing and multiplying in sweaty, warm, and moist fabric. Polygiene StayFresh isn't a topical treatment – it's there for the life of the garment.
OdorCrunch™ is a fabric odor-control technology that uses natural silica particles to capture and break down odor molecules so they can no longer produce smell. Molecules from sweat, smoke, cooking, etc. attach to modified silica particles and then a catalytic reaction "crunches" these molecules, breaking them down into simpler, non-odorous substances, so the bad smell is permanently removed rather than just masked.
Build-wise, the Vista Pant proffers articulated knees and inner thigh gussets to advance fit and motion, as well as cater to crouching and sitting comfortably. Articulation, or the preformed bend in the knee through supplementary fabric cuts and stitches, promotes mobility and keeps the legs from hiking up while you sit. Gusseting means TUO stitched a separate fabric panel in the crotch area, which vastly improves range of motion while on the go, as well as providing greater looseness when sitting in the stand.
Cleverly, the Vista Pant also boasts side seam vents with mesh linings running along the thighs. Simply unzip to regulate temperature when on the hoof or the sun gets high.
Pockets are aplenty, too – actually, eight of them. Choose and use two front two waist, one knife, two zip thigh, and a pair in the back – one open, one zipped.
