Sparta, Wisconsin – Team Mathews delivered a noteworthy finish to the 2020 ASA season this past weekend at the ASA Classic in Foley, Alabama, claiming two Shooter of the Year titles and sweeping Men’s Open Pro.
Levi Morgan and Robert Householder each finished the tournament season with the most points in their categories, clinching the most coveted award in 3D archery - ASA Shooter of the Year. This is Morgan’s 13th SOY award in the Men’s Open Pro division. Notably, Householder has won SOY in Men’s Known Pro two consecutive years.
“Shooter of the Year is a coveted award presented to the best of the best who dedicated themselves all year long in preparation for each and every tournament,” stated Mathews Pro Staff Manager Derek Phillips. “We are extremely proud of Levi and Robert, and the entire Mathews team for that matter. We could see their determination and drive at every tournament producing a well-earned recognition. Well done guys.”
The ASA tournament tour consists of tournaments across the country. ASA Pro Division competitors shoot two rounds of twenty targets. These targets vary in distance up to 50 yards and the five highest scores from the first two rounds qualify for the shoot down to decide the winner. The shooter with the most points after all events is dubbed Shooter of the Year in each division.
In addition to the two Shooter of the Year awards, Team Mathews also claimed 6 of 9 podiums at the ASA Classic across three Pro Divisions.
