Congratulation to Jeff Melillo, of New Jersey, on the confirmation of his 2019 Black Bear as the new World Record for the species. Melillo’s bear was harvested in New Jersey on October 14th, 2019. His bear tipped the scale at 700 pounds, but it is the size of the skull that placed him on top of the record books. After a 60-day drying period, the bear’s official measurement was 23-5/16”, topping the previous record from 1993 of 23-3/16”.

On Saturday, February 15th, the Pope and Young Club convened a Special Panel of Judges in Chatfield, Minnesota, for a potential P&Y World Record Rocky Mountain Goat. Rosey Roselands' goat scored 53 2/8" and is now the largest bow-harvested Rocky Mountain Goat in North America. This amazing goat was shot on Revillagigedo Island in southeast Alaska, on October 3rd, 2019.

On Friday, March 1st, the Pope and Young Club convened a Special Panel of Judges in Omaha, Nebraska for a potential P&Y World Record non-typical whitetail. Luke Brewster’s incredible buck was shot in Illinois during the 2018 archery season. Measurers present for the Special Panel were Eli Randall, Gil Hernandez, Jack Reneau, Ken Witt, Ricky Krueger, Kyle Lehr, Stan Zirbel and Panel Chairman, Ed Fanchin. With a final score of 327 7/8", Luke’s buck was confirmed as the new P&Y World Record non-typical whitetail. This buck surpasses the previous World Record non-typical whitetail shot by Michael Beatty in 2000 by over 33 inches.
