The NSSF praised Utah Governor Spencer Cox for signing House Bill 214, which amends civil liability laws to protect firearm and ammunition industry businesses from frivolous lawsuits. Utah became the first state to pass the NSSF's state liability reform language, blocking attempts by gun control advocates to circumvent the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.

The Indiana Court of Appeals unanimously ended the City of Gary's 26-year-old lawsuit against firearm manufacturers. NSSF praised the decision upholding House Bill 1235, which reserves to Indiana the exclusive authority to sue firearm industry members, with NSSF Senior Vice President Lawrence G. Keane commending Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita's defense of the law.
