Williamsburg, KY – Anderson Archery hosted the Kentucky S3DA Central Indoor Regional at Anderson County High School in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. There were 295 archers that participated in this event. Kentucky Regional Coordinator and Anderson Archery Head Coach, Dave Frederick stated, “Each year these events in Kentucky continue to see a large growth in numbers. Our event held last year hosted 211 archers, whereas this year we had 295 archers competing. It is really exciting to see the increase of the number of archers in the Indoor Target discipline."
“By being centrally located in Kentucky, this site makes for a great location for multiple schools and clubs to travel to participate in archery events. We are excited about future events here,” said Chris McDonald, S3DA National Outreach Director and coach for Southwestern High School.
Mike Wilson, Coach of Daviess County High School Archery said, “We really enjoy coming to Anderson County High School. Dave and his assistant coaches (Mindy Lewis, John Newby and John Thomas) for Anderson Archery do a wonderful job hosting the shoot. The multiple gyms at Anderson County High School are great for hosting Indoor shoots.”
Dave Frederick, Head Coach for Anderson Archery wanted to “Thank” all the archers and parents who travelled to Anderson County High School.
Started in December 2012 by the Scholastic Archery Association, S3DA has grown exponentially as a next step program to follow introductory programs offered as part of 4-H or the National Archery in Schools Program. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
