West Tennessee S3DA Regional 3-D Qualifier

Williamsburg, KY – The weather can sometimes be uncooperative during 3-D archery season as was the case on May 5th when Tennessee S3DA hosted the 2nd regional of the 2018 season in Finger, Tennessee. The weather certainly failed to cooperate, but it was a great day despite the poor conditions. Sixty-six kids from nine different clubs and teams across Middle and West Tennessee braved the weather to compete.

S3DA Tennessee Regional Coordinator Michael Hickerson said, “When you have a group of high energy kids that have already shot and are waiting on awards, it can sometimes be a handful. The rainy weather made the wait for awards much easier on the kids as they were playing in mud puddles, chasing lizards and finding mudbugs. These kids never cease to amaze me.”

Covenant Ranch Head Coach Augie Whiteman stated, “I would like to give a special thanks to all the parents and coaches, as well as the whole club at Southwest Tennessee Archery for making this regional a resounding success. A special thank you to Josh Naylor and Jennifer Cole Hickerson for all their help and support. Great job by all the archers who shot and the parents who persevered in the rain to support their kids.”

Stones River and Siegel High Coach Cindy Conley stated, “Shooting this past weekend was a wet, soggy adventure. It was a hilly and beautiful course. There were many mishaps due to the weather and lots of muddy kids. These kids always find a way to step it up a notch on days like this though, and make it look like a normal walk in the woods.” Obviously, a great day of archery was had by all!
