“Leupold is an iconic name in the hunting community, and we’re proud to welcome Leupold as a Whitetails Unlimited national sponsor," said WTU President Jeff Schinkten. “They have been making outstanding optics for hunters since the end of World War II, and they continue to produce innovative designs and lead the industry. That’s quite a track record; over five generations this legendary business has produced great hunting gear because they understand hunting. We look forward to working with Leupold to support the American tradition of safe, ethical hunting.”
Leupold started in 1907 making surveying equipment, and later J.C. Stevens invented a water level recorder and joined the company as a partner. The story is that in the 1940s Marcus Leupold missed a shot at a buck because his scope fogged. Angry, he set out to make a better scope, and in 1947 Leupold & Stevens released the “Plainsman” scope, sealed against weather and nitrogen purged. Now headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon Leupold has continued to innovate and produce outstanding optics. For more information, visit www.leupold.com.
