Mossy Oak® Releases Chapter 2 of Mr. Fox’s 71st Turkey Season

WEST POINT, MS – Mossy Oak Capture Digital Productions recently launched an online mini-series that follows along Mossy Oak’s “Founding Father,” Mr. Carl Fox Haas as he attempts to continue his streak and make 2018 his 71st turkey season to successfully hunt a wild turkey.  Now available to view for free at www.mossyoak.com is “Mr. Fox 71: Chapter Two.”

The second installment of this series comes after the first episode, “Mr. Fox 71: Chapter One,” where Mr. Fox is seen enjoying a gorgeous spring morning with his family in the Alabama hardwoods as two toms work into his setup perfectly.  The conclusion of that episode can also be viewed at www.mossyoak.com.

The obsession with turkey hunting for Mr. Fox started in 1945 when he called in and killed his first turkey.  Since then, he has evolved exponentially as an outdoorsman and conservationist.

Mr. Fox has played a major role in the revitalization of the wild turkey population throughout the South.  Around 1975, he was part of a focused effort with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks to rebuild the wild turkey population throughout northern Mississippi and the rest of the South.  Through efforts of conservationists like Mr. Fox and other like-minded outdoors men and women, the now thriving wild turkey population throughout a large part of northern Mississippi and western Alabama today can be traced directly back to the turkeys he and others released by hand back in the mid-1970s.

Last year, Mr. Fox was featured in Mossy Oak Capture Productions’ video, “70 – Mr. Fox Haas’ 70th Turkey Season,” where he was filmed killing a turkey for what completed his 70th successful season as a turkey hunter.  Now, the goal is to continue his streak to complete 71 successful years of filling his turkey tag. This season, we invite you to follow along on the journey with Mr. Fox. Will he reach the goal of 71 successful turkey seasons?

“All I can say is I’m determined,” said Mr. Fox.  “I’m shooting for 71 and I’m having a hard time doing it.  Thanks to my son and my grandsons. If they will stick with me, we are going to get one somehow or another.”
