Elite Shooters Win Compound Gold at Junior World Championships

West Henrietta, NY – Team USA shined over the weekend at the Junior World Championships in Rosario, Argentina, as Elite Archery's Curtis Broadnax and Alexis Ruiz secured top rank in their gold medal matches Sunday.

Ruiz, shooting an Elite Victory37, scored an average of nearly 29 points an end over the 15-arrow match and won by five points (144-139).

Ruiz sat down with World Archery after the match: "It was a competitive match. I train every day for four hours and almost 300 arrows every single day and I just haven't given up keeping the strong shots."

Seeded third heading into the Junior World Championships, Broadnax, also shooting an Elite Victory37, took a three-point lead over Jesse Clayton in the second (59-56), which he then increased over the back nine arrows. He ended the match with a nine-point lead to secure gold (146-137).

"A lot of hard work put into it and it's just coming up a success," Broadnax shared with World Archery.

"The young talent keeps rising to the top – it's really exciting to see Curtis and Alexis having continued success on such a big stage," said Darrin Christenberry, Elite Archery Pro Staff Manager. "When young archers from 65 countries gather in one place to battle it out, it presents a significant challenge. Having Curtis and Alexis come out on top with individual gold medals, using The Outdoor Group products is exciting to see. Congratulations to them and to all the young shooters!"
