Oklahoma Elk Foundation Event Set for March 25

The Oklahoma River Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will hold its annual fundraising banquet March 25 in Oklahoma City.

"Anyone who is interested in the future of elk and other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage is invited to attend," said Shane Stenquist, the Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana regional director with the RMEF.

Prizes will include an RMEF banquet edition rifle, custom fire pit, a Kimber 10mm pistol, Yeti cooler, premium hunting trips and limited-edition art. Patrons may buy additional drawing tickets before the event to increase their odds of winning.

The organization donates tens of thousands of dollars annually to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation to help fund elk management and habitat improvement activities.

Chapter chairman David Smith said banquet attendees will enjoy the camaraderie and sense of purpose and accomplishment that keeps most supporters coming back year after year. "Best of all, you will have a great time while supporting a cause that's close to the heart of hunters, their families and the future of the great outdoors," Smith said.

Doors will open at 5 p.m. at Embassy Suites, 1815 S. Meridian. Single tickets that include one RMEF membership are $70, or $105 for a couple. Deadline to buy tickets is March 23.
