NASP® Announces Second Educators and Coaches Conference

July 27 – 28, 2018

Based on extremely positive attendee feedback from the 2016 Educators and Coaches Conference, the National Archery in the Schools Program announces its plan to provide its next advanced training and networking opportunity for NASP® educators and coaches.

The location selected for the event is the Embassy Suites by Hilton of Lexington, Kentucky, July 27-28. This location was selected for various reasons including available space and ease of access for a growing conference crowd. The 2018 Educator and Coaches Conference will also offer optional in-depth pre- and post- coaching workshops that can be purchased on a first come first serve basis and will be available to be purchased separately.

Dr. Tommy Floyd, Vice President of NASP® said, "We are following up on information gathered from our 2016 post-conference. From this information, we learned what attendees really wanted in training opportunity like this. Beyond the obvious networking opportunity, attendees were very descriptive in the types of sessions they wanted to improve their archery coaching capacity. We plan to provide these very informative and specific sessions as a result. As a matter of fact, we are in the process of contacting successful NASP® coaches from across our jurisdictions that have proven coaching strategies for teaching students proficiency in shooting the Genesis bow. Utilizing our pool of BAI certified coaches; we believe we can find the perfect presenter(s) for the sessions that our attendees asked for. When folks see our agenda for

2018, there will be a lot of specific "how-to" sessions and in depth coaching techniques for working with NASP® students. "

President Roy Grimes said, "It is inspiring to spend time with so many wonderful teachers and coaches who strive to help their students have fun while excelling in archery!"

NASP® is now engaged in building the kind of proven presenter pool for the types of specific information requested by 2016 attendees. NASP® will be working to announce more information as it is available on meeting the needs of educators and coaches that serve approximately 2.4 million students per year.
