JOB DESCRIPTION
OUTDOOR SPORTSMAN GROUP
POSITION:Programming Executive
LOCATION:Denver, CO
STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO:VP, Programming
DATE:October 2016

POSTION OVERVIEW:

The Programming Executive is responsible for selling airtime on all networks and maintaining relationships with producers and partners in the industry.

MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate and critique productions for consideration on our network.
Consult and advise producers on our network on programming quality
Responsible for meeting/exceeding programming revenue objectives.
Manage and develop positive relationships with producers – be comfortable giving presentations in person and demonstrate ability to close business.
Maintain solid relationships with existing producers for continued revenue growth.
Work closely with Marketing, Traffic and other internal departments to ensure timely and effective communication with accounts.
Prepare timely and accurate reports of meetings and sales/marketing activities for senior staff.
Ability to travel as necessary, including weekends.
Attend and participate in programming staff meetings.
Perform all other duties that may be assigned to meet business needs.


MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIOINS:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 4 years related experience in a broadcast or cable network programming environment.
Proven track record of meeting/exceeding revenue objectives.
Media sales experience with Nielsen, RENTRAK, Kantar, MRI, Simmons and other quantitative and qualitative market research.
Must be self-motivated team player and possess determination and drive to develop new business prospects with the ability to perceive the buyers needs, overcome all objections and position Sportsman Channel as a significant value proposition.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining a strong rapport with our clients.
Ability to make presentations and offer information that allows clients to make a well informed decision.
Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as analytical and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience in ACT! or similar database management software is desired.
Comfortable utilizing the internet for researching potential clients.
Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
High level of attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines and team sales goals.
Must possess a strong work ethic, be willing to learn and have a passionate desire to succeed.
Enthusiasm for the hunting, shooting and/or fishing lifestyle is a plus.
