Bowhunters Rendezvous Promises Action-Packed Weekend

Chatfield, MN - The first-ever Pope and Young Bowhunters Rendezvous, June 10th - 12th, is shaping up to be an incredible, action-packed, archery event. It will be a celebration of archery and bowhunting with activities for participants of all ages.

The MacKenzie Outdoor Education Center is located on 500 acres near Poynette, Wisconsin, in Columbia County. Due to its centralized location and outdoor oriented facilities, it is the perfect location for the first P&Y Club Bowhunters Rendezvous. Just 25 miles north of Madison, the MacKenzie Center is one of the most diverse educational centers in Wisconsin with interpretive trails, exhibits, and museums. MacKenzie is a wonderful place to visit and learn about the natural world. The Bowhunters Rendezvous promises to be a family-oriented, mega shooting event and social gathering. All proceeds go toward the Pope and Young Club's ongoing conservation and outreach programs.

Rendezvous attendees will have the opportunity to visit with top bowhunting equipment manufacturers, participate in hands-on demonstration of the latest traditional and modern archery equipment, enjoy shooting multiple unique hunting venues featuring the latest Rinehart, McKenzie and Shooter targets, enter hourly drawings for great prizes from event sponsors, see trophy class game mounts, meet with top outfitters and talk with hunting celebrities. The Pope and Young Club will also partner with Kentucky-based Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) and the Wisconsin state NASP chapter to provide shooting venues for youth. S3DA trained instructors will be onsite to provide hands-on instruction and equipment. Shooting courses will be provided for both NASP and S3DA regional shoots.

"We are very pleased to host Pope and Young Club's 2016 Rendezvous at the MacKenzie Center," said Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary, Cathy Stepp. "It's partnerships like these that create win-win situations. Pope and Young is a highly respected organization, and I can't think of a better venue than the MacKenzie Center for this event."

The MacKenzie Center also has a wildlife exhibit that houses live animals native to Wisconsin, including bison, bobcat, deer, mountain lions, gray wolves and many raptors. All of the animals in the exhibit were injured, orphaned or raised in captivity and cannot be released into the wild. The animals are cared for as part of an educational exhibit, providing students and the public an opportunity to see and learn more about the animals that are part of Wisconsin's ecological community.

The Pope and Young Club is a non-profit North American conservation and bowhunting organization dedicated to the promotion

and protection of our bowhunting heritage, hunting ethics and wildlife conservation.
