Introduction to Bowhunting Workshop Offered for Women in NH

CONCORD, N.H. - Women interested in learning how to bowhunt can now sign up for an introductory workshop presented by New Hampshire's Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program. The session will take place August 23, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness, N.H.

At this "Beyond BOW" workshop, "Introduction to Bowhunting," participants will practice scouting as they look for animal sign, judge various distances using 3-D animal targets, and follow mock blood trails through a game recovery simulation. Learn how to find locations to hunt and how to properly place a shot to efficiently take an animal. N.H. bow hunting regulations will also be covered. Please note that archery skills will not be taught in this course.

The workshop fee of $55 includes instruction, program materials and use of demonstration equipment. Morning refreshments and a box lunch will be provided. This is a rain or shine event; dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.
