The 12th annual Lancaster Archery Classic taking place Jan. 16-18 attracted a record 850 archers, a dramatic increase from 2014, when 489 shooters participated.

Winning the Men's Pro Division and taking home $10,000 was Christopher Perkins. Rounding out the top five pros were Jesse Broadwater, Kendall Woody, Todd Lambright and Reo Wilde.

The event took place at a new venue this year, the Lancaster Host Resort, in Lancaster, Pa.

Tournament founder and Lancaster Archery Supply president Rob Kaufhold told the local media he expects participation to continue the present growth spurt.

"The growth in archery in general, in archery as a sport, started in the 2012 London Olympics with positive results and great coverage," Kaufhold said.
