POSITION: ORDER PLANNER

Department/Location: Demand Planning and Inventory Performance/Morehead City, NC.

Reports directly to: Senior Inventory Performance Manager-Shooting Sports

OVERVIEW:
Big Rock Sports, the largest outdoor sporting goods distributor in North America, is seeking an Order Planner to work at our facility in Morehead City, NC. This position is responsible for assisting the Demand Planning and Inventory Performance Department in meeting or exceeding their customer fill rate targets by managing inventory levels, optimizing vendor replenishment, managing customer demand forecasts and promotions, proactively addressing vendor compliance issues, and resolving discontinued, aging, and obsolete inventory.

This is a full-time position that will work directly in support of the Demand Planning and Inventory Performance Department with the Shooting Sports Division of the company. The duties and responsibilities of the job include a wide array of functions directly related to purchasing, inventory management and corresponding data management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Processing, managing and invoicing customer Drop Ship and Special Order purchases.
• Conducting vendor and customer follow-up and reconciliations.
• Assisting with the generation of inventory and sales reporting.
• Performing the setup and maintenance of new product additions in an AS400 system.
• Canceling, expediting and maintaining purchase orders for designated in-line product.
• Attending Big Rock Sports sales booking shows to facilitate the provision of Drop Ship/Special Order processing, information and administrative duties as needed.
• Assisting Demand Planners and Replenishment Specialists with purchase order expediting and maintenance.
• Executing administrative duties related to the production of annual Show Order Catalogs.
• Performing vendor information/vendor item maintenance within an AS400 system.
• Maintaining files/records of pricing, catalogs, programs and deals for assigned vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• H.S. Diploma or equivalency required. Associates/Bachelor's Degree in disciplines of Business, Supply Chain, and Purchasing will be considered as an enhancing qualification as will certifications in process or inventory management.

Technical skills:
• Proficient typing.
• Computer literate and comfortable operating in a Microsoft Windows based environment.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite; certifications demonstrating advanced learning/expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a plus.
• Ability to learn and navigate within an AS400 (ERP) system.

Previous experience:

• Previous work experience in an Order Planning, Purchasing or Inventory Management role is desired but not required.
