Ellison and Kaufhold Take Mixed Team Silver at World Cup Gwangju

GWANGJU, Korea – Competition wrapped today at the second stage of the 2022 Archery World Cup and USA returned to the recurve mixed team podium, upgrading from bronze in Antalya to silver in Gwangju.

Ellison and Kaufhold took to the finals stage against Germany while tricky wind conditions challenged all four archers. Both teams opened with 35s to split the first set, but the U.S. duo seemed to find their footing first, posting a 39 in the second set to lead 3-1. Germany put the third set out of reach as the match drew level and then closed out the win with two perfect 10s for a 5-3 decision.

Ellison and Kaufhold climbed the podium on the heels of Steve Marsh’s bronze finish in the compound men’s individual finals yesterday, adding to the USA’s hardware tally this season.

The World Cup circuit resumes late next month in Paris. Complete results from the competition are available at archery.sport. Photos courtesy of World Archery.
