Illinois S3DA Hosts Indoor Regional at N.C.O.E.

Williamsburg, KY – N.C.O.E. hosted an Indoor Regional at the White County Indoor Range in Carmi, Illinois. Seventy-four (74) archers were present for the event representing 6 teams and 3 clubs from across the state. Illinois continues to see an increase in student archers with active memberships now over 300+ kids.

Illinois Regional Coordinator and S3DA Coach Mike Westfall stated, “We have a lot of new shooters on our team this year and we are excited to see how the season goes. Our coaches were very pleased with the number of shooters we had for this event. It was standing room only for spectators who came out to watch.”

Kendra Fiala is the mother of two S3DA archers and she added, “It is good to see the shooting line and bleachers filled to capacity. For the shooters, having an audience and standing at the line to shoot with peers on either side of you can be challenging, but everyone did a great job. I am looking forward to this season and expect to see some great scores over the next few weeks.”

“N.C.O.E. held their 1st regional of 2020 (the biggest regional so far this year) and I am very proud of everyone. The event ran smooth and the sportsmanship displayed was a class act. The kids did a great job of focusing and they really knew the rules. I look forward to the rest of the season,” stated Illinois State Coordinator, Jim Sharp.

Illinois S3DA now looks forward to January 25th, where they will host one regional at White Co. Archery and hold another regional in conjunction with Wisconsin at Kenosha Bowmen.
