Whitetails Unlimited Grassroots Program Staying the Course

While COVID-19 has shut down most of the country and caused the cancellation of many events, Whitetails Unlimited’s Grassroots Program has not waivered. The program is continuing to issue grants and program service expenses at the local chapter level for mission related projects. These projects have ranged from local archery team support, to firearm range improvements, to scholarships for graduating seniors pursuing careers in the outdoor industry.

WTU volunteers work very hard throughout the year with our regional field directors planning and executing events across 32 states. These events generate the revenue WTU uses to fund their four pillar programs. Fifty percent of the proceeds raised stay in the surrounding communities where the funds were raised to support mission related projects.

“As far as our grassroots grants, it’s been business as usual,” says Whitetails Unlimited Program Services Director Russ Austad. “Amid all the financial uncertainly due to COVID-19 funds are needed more now than ever for projects and organizations that support WTU’s mission.”
