Kentucky S3DA Shows Record Breaking Attendance for Indoor State Championship

Williamsburg, KY – The Owensboro Convention Center was the selected venue for the 2020 Kentucky S3DA Indoor State Championship and boasted a record breaking five-hundred and thirteen archers (513). Fifteen (15) Elementary clubs and teams, twenty-three (23) Middle School clubs and teams and twenty-eight (28) High School clubs and teams were represented, along with several thousand spectators.

“I have competed in NFAA Indoor Tournaments for over fifteen (15) years in facilities in Kansas City, Louisville and Cincinnati, to name a few. This was my first Indoor State Tournament with Kentucky S3DA and the Owensboro Convention Center ranked at the top of those that I have competed in. Not only was the venue great, but the people and youth archers that I asked questions of were very friendly and informative. Kentucky S3DA did an amazing job organizing this event,” stated Owensboro Catholic High School Coach, Tom Rhodes.

Bluegrass Archery Academy coach, Tim Williams said, “I think this venue was awesome compared to the space we’ve been allotted at venues in the past. This tournament ran smooth and there was plenty of room to move around.”

“Our shooters and every shooter we encountered made memories that will last a lifetime. The S3DA Indoor State Tournament in Owensboro helped enforce archery as a sport for life! Thank you from Center Shot Archery club for such a great event,” stated archery coach, Sandra Harney.

Kentucky S3DA has shown tremendous growth over the last couple years and increasingly has difficulty finding suitable venues that can host the great number of archers and spectators a tournament like this entails. Kentucky S3DA would like to thank the city of Owensboro, especially the Owensboro Tourism and the Owensboro Convention Center for their willingness to accommodate this growing program. Kentucky S3DA would also like to thank Supporting Heroes for graciously agreeing to share such a magnificent venue. A special thanks to all of the countless volunteers, parents, grandparents and coaches who sacrifice their time to make sure the Kentucky program continues to run as smooth as possible. With such an increase in the numbers of youth statewide, it literally takes a village to have such an amazing event.
