Michigan S3DA Holds First Indoor Regional of the 2020 Season

Williamsburg, KY – Michigan S3DA did not let snowy weather postpone their event, as they hosted their first Indoor Regional at Hunter’s Den Archery Shop in Lapeer, Michigan. Thirty-three (33) archers from six clubs and teams across the state participated in the event with more than sixty spectators in attendance. With over one-hundred active student members and continuous growth of trained coaches in the program, Michigan S3DA looks to have more clubs and teams by the end of this year. Michigan S3DA will be hosting more events for the 2020 season than ever before.

Michigan S3DA Regional Coordinator, Cara Waite stated, “The Michigan Eastern Regional Indoor Tournament was a great success. Thank you to Hunter’s Den for hosting a great tournament. We had many young archers to come out and participate, despite the snowy weather conditions. I met new archers and made many new friends. I am so excited to see S3DA growing in Michigan.”

Parents and coaches stated that they loved watching the kids shoot with such great line etiquette. One of the parent’s complimented her child’s coach by saying that you could really tell they work with the kids and teach them the proper steps. She said I know that coaching is not easy, and I am glad that we have individuals that are willing to work with our children to teach them the right way so that when they grow up, they can teach others.

“Everyone in my group gave pointers and helped each other out. I truly love this sport and I’m thankful that I get to compete with others that are friendly and convey great sportsmanship. I look forward to the next event,” stated Katelynn Williams, an archer from the S3DA club Central Michigan Goldstars.
