SUPERIOR, WI – Bowfishermen, it’s time to start thinking about the 2020 Muzzy Classic! With a recently inked date of July 11, 2020 this annual event is one hardcore bowfishermen won’t want to miss. 2019 marked the 20th Anniversary of this prestigious event, while the turn-out was record setting. Competitors from across the country flocked to Lee S. Jones Park in Eddyville, Kentucky, to bowfish the rough-fish-rich waters of Kentucky and Barkley Lakes, as well as the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers. Although the exact bodies of water to be fished have yet to be named, this year participants can plan to descend upon Eddyville, KY for another fantastic night on the water.
In 2019, 93 boats took to the local waters to compete for bragging rights and major cash prizes offered in the following categories: Big 20, Numbers, Big Fish Pot and the Big Silver Pot. In total, over $27,700 dollars of hard-earned green was given out, making this tournament one of the highest payout bowfishing events in the country. Can you afford to miss it?
Side of the money up for grabs and the incredible bowfishing, the event also promises untold amounts of fun for non-participant attendees. Last year, entertainment as well as food, drinks and field games kept the park buzzing. Outdoor personalities like Tim Wells, Chuck Belmore, Jon Justice, Melissa Bachman and the Catchin’ Deers crew joined in the weekend’s festivities. 2020 is sure to offer more of the same.
